The House League season typically runs from October to March
House League is Co-ed where girls and boys play together on the same team
House League players enjoy one practice and one game scheduled every week during the season
A mid-season tournament is usually scheduled late January for all Divisions
Each player receives a team jersey and a new basketball, after registration and placement on a team, at the beginning of the House League season
Registration Fee is $275 for House League registrants, if registered prior to the early registration deadline
House League registration fee increases to $300 after the early registration deadline has expired
A request can be made for a specific practice day, at the time of registration. This excludes the Major and Juvenile Divisions (see table below)
Practice day requests ARE NOT GUARANTEED. A player can be placed on any available day for that Division, if first choice is unavailable
Practice day selection is based on a first come first serve basis until availability on each day is exhausted
Division (Birth Year) | Practice Day Availability | Game Day |
---|---|---|
Novice (2012, 2011) | Monday or Tuesday | Friday ONLY |
Atom (2010, 2009) | Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday | Friday ONLY |

Please note: Increased House League registration can initiate a Registration Cut-Off in the affected Division. Any registration received after the Division Cut-Off will be added to a Wait List. The Wait List is our oportunity to make adjustments to provide the best options for parents and players. Each registrant placed on a Wait List will be contacted directly by email. At that time, next-step direction will be communicated.
For inquiries and questions about the KWYBA House League, please contact the House League Administrator, Sheri Cartwright at sheri_yba@yahoo.ca.
Attention Parents/Guardians & Coaches: Please note, before you register a participant for this program, the KWYBA utilizes an 'evaluation process' to ensure parity of teams. Only the child(ren) of a vetted and approved COACH is guaranteed a spot on the team. (limited to one Head Coach and one Assitant Coach per team). Siblings in the same Division will also be guaranteed a spot on the same team. We cannot accept requests or guarantee a specific Coach, team, or teammate in the league. Thanks for your support.
There is a separate registration for the Viper Rep Program (Boys or Girls) and the House League Program (Co-ed). For those registering for the Viper Rep Program, selection is established by means of individual tryout. Once the tryout process is complete, those unsuccessful members will have the opportunity to join our very successful House League Program to continue to develop their skills. A request for a refund can be made to the Executive Administrator, if a decsion is reached not to pursue a KWYBA membership.
