2018-2019 Season Registration

Registration is now open. Please read this page, including the "Important Registration Information" listed below. Fee increases after September 30, 2018, register early.

  • Registration Fee is $275 for both *Viper Rep and House League registrants, if registered prior to September 30, 2018. The fee increases to $300 after September 30, 2018

  • *After a player has successfuly tried out and made a Viper Rep Team, the initial $275 registration fee will be applied to the total $600 cost for the Viper Rep Program

  • Note: A request can be made for practice day for House League. This is a REQUEST only and NOT a guarantee.

  • Selection is based on a first come first serve basis until availability on each day is exhausted.

  • Please be prepared to have a second choice if your first choice is unavailable

Please note: As we near the end of the Registration Period and Division Registrations near capacity, you will be placed on a WAIT LIST. The WAIT LIST is our opportunity to make adjustments to provide the best options for parents and players. Don't panic, you will be contacted directly if you have been placed on a WAIT LIST. You will receive information and next-step direction after the Registration Period is closed.

Registration must be made using one of the Registration Options below. Paper-based registrations are no longer accepted.

Important Registration Information

KWYBA Registration Policy

  1. Every sports league program has registration deadlines and unique rules on how to assemble teams. The KWYBA has an evaluation period which will determine team rosters by division based upon the assessment of skill level to create balanced teams.
  2. Team requests – The KWYBA realizes requesting certain teams for reasons of transportation, child care, friends, etc., would be appreciated by parents. However, we do not honour special requests. We are dedicated to the player rating system and making teams as BALANCED as possible.
  3. Because of team size restrictions, signing up does not guarantee a position on a team roster or a requested practice night. The KWYBA takes sign-ups on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  4. Team size – The KWYBA establishes a maximum team size for each division. Novice and Atom divisions to be a maximum of 10 players per team and all other divisions a maximum of 12 players.
  5. The KWYBA will not allow a child to move up to an older age division, unless the younger division has an abundance of players and the older division is short of players. A child moving up must have played at least one year in the division they wish to move up from. If there is a special request to move a player up, the House League Administrator will consider the request.

Creating Balanced Teams

Attention Parents/Guardians & Coaches: Please note, before you register a participant for this program, the KWYBA utilizes an 'evaluation process' to ensure parity of teams. Only the COACH's son/daughter is guaranteed a slot on the team. (limited to one Head Coach and one Assitant Coach per team). Siblings in the same Division will also be guaranteed a spot on the same team. We cannot accept requests or guarantee a specific Coach, tean, or teammate in the league since this would take away from the purpose of the rating system. Thanks for your support.

First time KWYBA members

All initial online registrations go through our House League Divisions (Novice, Atom, Bantam, Midget, Juvenile). There are no "Major" divisions like those within the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA).

There is no separate registration for Viper Rep teams (Boys or Girls). After Viper Rep tryouts are completed, successful Viper members will have their registration funds transferred to the Viper account. Those unsuccessful members will have the opportunity to join our very successful House League to continue to develop their skills or may request a refund through the Executive Administrator.

Registration Options-House League & Viper Programs

ALERT: The BANTAM DIVISION is now at WAIT LIST Status

Please be advised that The Bantam Division Registration is reaching capacity and now at the WAIT LIST Status.

For Bantam/Major Bantam VIPER PROGRAM registrants placed on the WAIT LIST, please attend the VIPER TRYOUTS as per the schedule.

For HOUSE LEAGUE registrants, If you have been placed on the WAIT LIST, you will be advised directly by call or email message, of the next step. DO NOT attend House League Evaluations unless you have been contacted and instructed to do so.

Uncomfirmed player names will not appear on the HOUSE LEAGUE Evaluation list and will be denied. All HOUSE LEAGUE WAIT LIST players will be contacted and advised of their status and next step.

Once the VIPER team selection process has concluded, HOUSE LEAGUE spots will come available.
