| Federation (high school) rules shall govern league play
except for divisional changes.
The jewelry rule shall be enforced by officials. This means
that no player will be allowed to play with jewelry visible.
It must be removed to play, not covered. This applies to rings,
piercings, chains, bracelets, and any hair paraphernalia (hairpins,
bretts, combs, etc.).
Uniforms must be worn to play (there will be a grace period
at the start of the season).
Players receiving 2 technical fouls in the same game will
be suspended for 1 game. A further occurrence will lead to
a meeting with convenor, coach and player to discuss situation
and further action.
All games will consist of five 5-minute shifts per half,
running time (time will run during shift changes) and 5 minute
half-time break.
Teams and officials will be prepared to start at designated
times. Delays will cut into teams’ playing time to be
fair to following games. The next game will start at its scheduled
time, not necessarily when the previous game is over.
Man-to-man defense will be defined as; “the defender
must stay within a 6-foot area of their check if that check
is involved in the play.” Planting in the defensive
key will not be allowed. An offensive player may dribble into
defensive double coverage and be liable to lose the ball.
Penalty: the official will give One warning to each team.
Further occurrences will be penalized with a technical foul
to the defensive team. If there are no foul shots in the division,
1 point will be awarded, with possession.
The “bonus” will go into effect on the 7th foul
each half. Double bonus will only take effect if noted.
Each new shift will have inbound at half by the team with
the possession arrow.
No 3-point shot unless noted.
If the clock runs during a time out, there will be no time
out allowed in the last shift. If there is an injury time
out, the clock will be stopped.
Each team must have a coach on the bench before referees
will start a game. If the regular coach is not present, designate
a parent to take care of the bench duties.
There must be a scorer and time keeper in place before referees
will start a game.
Each team will have a 15 minute grace period if they are late
or short of players, after which a forfeit will be given to
the team ready to play. Late games will be played in a shortened
format to allow the next game to start as scheduled. The referees
do not have to ref a scrimmage or fun game with players that
are there. Their insurance coverage is for official or sanctioned
games.
Remember- equal play for everyone, every game.
