The Vipers travelled to Indianapolis, Indiana the weekend of July 23-24 to participate in the Summer Sizzler Basketball Tournament. The team expected to have fun and hoped to be competitive against their American opponents, but surprized everyone, including themselves, by winning the entire tournament.

The lone Canadian entry in the tournament, the Vipers defeated teams from Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio as well as Hoosier Hoops from northern Indiana and All About Ball from indianapolis.

They were named Team of the Week by the Kitchener Post for August 6.
